About Us
Jeff Durkin is Boral's Consulting principal and a very experienced senior corporate lawyer, specialising in upstream and mid-stream oil and gas exploration and development projects. In addition he has extensive experience in large construction and infrastructure projects in the energy, petrochemical and alternative energy sectors.
Jeff was a partner in a leading corporate commercial law firm in New Zealand before moving to the UK in 1988 with BP plc having responsibility for managing a global legal team.
From 2005 until 2008 Jeff was Associate General Counsel to the INEOS Chemical’s Major Projects group, responsible for major petrochemical investments in Europe, Asia, US and the Middle East. As well as providing legal advice, Jeff undertook a commercial negotiation and project management role.
From 2009 to 2013 Jeff had a number of consultancy assignments in the oil, gas, petrochemical and alternative energy sectors. These included advising on waste to ethanol projects in the UK and US, providing legal support to clients developing worldwide markets for oil spill remediation and oil recovery products, and development of a UK market for a proprietary LNG transport fuel system, together with advising on solar energy and biotech projects in the UK.
From 2013 to end 2015, Jeff was General Counsel and Company Secretary for Azonto Petroleum Limited an ASX/AIM listed exploration company undertaking gas to power projects in West Africa, in particular Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Gabon.
During 2016, Jeff has undertaken a variety of consultancy assignments including within the alternative energy transport fuels sector. In addition, he has continued to provide consultancy services to Azonto Petroleum Limited in connection with its delisting from AIM and winding up of its UK operations.
